A seven-year veteran of Westport’s Board of Finance, including serving as Vice Chair, Allyson is dedicated to preserving best-in-class community resources while remaining focused on fiscal discipline, smart spending, and stable property tax rates.
Allyson has spent two decades as an executive at international nonprofits including managing multi-million dollar budgets and building strategic plans that both support the world’s most vulnerable people and ensure efficient use of donor investment.
Allyson began her career as a corporate securities lawyer and served as Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General of the United States. She is a graduate of Stanford and Yale Law School and has lived in Westport for 23 years with her husband, Jeff, and their two teenage sons.
Over her more than 12 years of service on the Board of Education, including serving as Chair, Elaine established a track record of getting things done for Westport. Elaine is currently a Commissioner on the Parks and Recreation Commission, where she has held leadership roles in two major long-term planning projects: the Longshore Club Capital Improvement Plan and the Parks Master Plan.
Professionally, Elaine has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, and management consulting.
She is a graduate of Yale and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and has lived in Westport for over 25 years with her husband, John. Their three children all graduated from the Westport Public Schools.
